Where would you like to spend next summer?

Volunteer in Sub-Saharan Africa with Tenteleni

Tenteleni is a UK student based volunteer-run charity that supports UK
university students to travel to volunteer projects in Sub-Saharan Africa,
over the summer break. The placements run in Kenya, Malawi, South Africa,
Swaziland and Zanzibar, operating within various educational and care
settings, schools, children’s homes, and centres for young people.
The Tenteleni volunteer role is to get involved with the community,
through organising events or working with local governmental and
non-governmental organisations.

The placements are diverse, though all volunteers are expected to bring
enthusiasm and energy to placements. Within schools volunteers assist
educators within the classrooms, acting as teaching assistants, helping
especially in the area of English and HIV and AIDS awareness. Volunteers
engage in cultural exchange and a sharing of skills and ideas, with the
in-country partners, both in formal and non-formal settings so as to
enhance educational experiences. Tenteleni aims to form and maintain
relationships with people and organisations, to ensure a sustainable
positive impact.
