LGBT INFORMATION

Manchester Metropolitan University has being awarded joint first for the most gay friendly university in the UK, and the LGBT Society has been named third best LGBT in the Pink Paper Readers Awards.

The Student Union Executive LGBT Officers have had a busy year so far, organsing campaigns and preparing infromation for LGBT History Month and LGBT Awarness week.

The society have had two successful bar crawls, bowling, meals out, a fantastic Christmas party (where £136 was raised for the LGF) and numerous other events.

Currently a full calendar of events for the history month and LGBT awareness week are being planned, to uphold the success and promote awareness of LGBT history and acceptance.

These include information stalls in the Students Union, with a fundraising cake sale, a presentation evening about campaigns and LGBT history, and a valentine’s quiz night. Stalls will also be open at the Cheshire campus during February, where Cheshire LGBT and Executive officer will promote LGBT history month.

Thursday 14^th February – MMU LGBT host “WILD LOVE” Valentines night held at AXM Bar on Canal Street. - LGBT Society
Thursday 26^th – February – Buffet meal in Disbury for Tapas, and night out in village for Poptastic and Cruz 101 back to back night. Lgbt Society
Tuesday March 11^th - Tri Uni night at Poptastic and a good end to term 2 before exams commence. Lgbt Society

Dates and times for more LGBT history month events will be added shortly, this consists of a gay film night, a presentation and discussion evening, lgbt forum, more stall dates (both Manchester and Cheshire).

MMU LGBT HOST WILD LOVE QUIZ NIGHT THURSDAY 14^TH FEBRARY AT AXM BAR MANCHESTER:

This quiz is being held in AXM bar on Canal Street on Thursday 14^th February and links in with LGBT history month. There are 3 sections on the quiz – Romance; General Knowledge and Gay History. Normal Thursday promotions will be available with various £2 bottles and spirits, along with the cocktail menu where the WILD LOVE cocktails can be purchased.
