Colours Award Criteria for Society members

Half Society Colours should be awarded to students who have
ü      been instrumental in the organisation of their society for at least 1 year
ü      shown outstanding commitment to their club society and its aims and objectives
ü      been a good example to the members of their society
 
Full Society Colours should be awarded to students who have
ü      been instrumental in the organisation of their society for at least 2 years
ü      shown outstanding commitment to their society and its aims and objectives
ü      been a good example to the members of their society.
 
Half Societies Union Colours should be awarded to students who have
ü      been committed to representing their society at events/conferences at both a local and national level for at least 1 year
ü      shown outstanding commitment to society and the Societies Union
ü      been a good example to the all members of the Societies Union
 
Full Societies Union Colours should be awarded to students who have
ü      been committed to representing their society at events/conferences at both a local and national level for at least 2 years
ü      shown outstanding commitment to society and the Societies Union

Other awards at the Society Awards Dinner include the list below. Please familiarise yourselves with the criteria for these awards and if you feel you know of any member who meets these, please let the Sports and Societies Officer know so that they can be considered.
 
Best Newcomer Society
ü      has shown outstanding commitment to the progress of their society
ü      has shown a commitment to the Societies Union
ü      has shown a willingness to learn, and use the facilities available to their society from the students union
 
Most Active Society is awarded to the society
ü      who have been continually active throughout the year
ü      who have been successful in organizing events
ü      who have been well organised
ü      who have shown commitment to the Societies Union
 
Most Active Member of the Year is awarded to the individual who
ü      is a member/committee member of a society
ü      who has shown outstanding commitment to the society and to the Societies Union
ü      stands out above other all other society members in their efforts put in to the running of their society
 
Society of the Year is awarded to the society
ü      that have been well organised
ü      who have continued to successfully develop and enhance their society
ü      who have increased its members and members participation
ü      who have shown to make use of the Societies Union and shown commitment to it
 
The Societies Union Outstanding Commitment Award is awarded to the individual who
ü      has shown outstanding commitment to the Societies Union
ü      has been a central figure in the Societies Union this year and previous
ü      has dedicated his/her time to the Societies Union
ü      is an example to all Societies Union members in how to behave and contribute to the Societies Union
