Student Respect Update

Dear Friend,

Following the massive impact that has been made on student politics by Student Respect groups across the country, we are sending out our attached final term bulletin. This summarises Student Respect’s successes, our performance at NUS conference, and looks at forthcoming events.

Regarding the latter it is vital that all those of us opposed to neoliberalism and war start preparations now for two hugely important events. The first of these is the next national Stop the War demonstration which will take place outside the Labour Party’s annual conference in Manchester on 23 September, calling for a withdrawal of troops from Iraq and against military intervention in Iran. The second event is the NUS national demonstration for a free education to be held in the first term of the 2006/2007 academic year, and which Student Respect was crucial to winning at NUS Conference.

This is also a chance to invite you to a national conference that will be held on Sunday 4 June, to talk about the future of Student Respect and elect a national steering committee. There are more details about this in the attached bulletin.

Finally, please don’t hesitate to reply to this email or call me for further information, to find out more about Student Respect or to ask any questions.

With Respect,

Suzie Wylie, 07896 278 126
