Plas y brenin/bcu student safety weekend

Andy, Tom and Myself packed up and went off to Plas Y Brenin.  Leaving at 6am on Sat caused a few swirvings across the roads and some snoring from the back seat where Tom recovered from the night before!

On arrival we signed in and went to the 1st seminar by Tom Parker, we learnt lots of important legal stuff and i rapidly scribbled down notes.  After dinner we all headed off to the lake to our different sessions.  Tom learnt a new roll in the pool, Andy did some 3 star training and I brushed up on some coaching skills. 

After another short seminar we headed to Bets y coed to buy some tea and put up tents in the dark.  We made it back to the Brenin in time to watch the last slide show with beer in hand, most people were very jolly by this time and it made for 'interesting' listening.  We joined in with the drinking and got chatting to some other Uni's mostly the MMU guys at Manchester - who were staying in the car park in a big van and were very drunk!

Next day Tom went on an Advanced whitewater trip planning day and me and Andy had our first christening on the Tryweyn.  The Trywyn was awsome, we practised white water skills and met some cool people.  That night we met up with Tom who had also had an ace day going off waterfalls but was a bit grumpy

because he dinted the front of his nice new playboat ouch!
