Horse Riding
  
We are a friendly sociable club and provide not only lessons, hacks and road trips but also a hectic social calender with loads of opportunities to meet new people and other AU teams.
Our lessons are split into three ability groups hence all standards are covered so don't worry if you've never touched a horse before!
We ride at Ashton Hall Equestrian Centre, a showjumping yard in Ashton-on-Mersey near Sale all transport is provided to and from the yard (this will usually be by car but if there are lots of us some might get down there on the metro!). Your instructers will either be Callum (whos ace) if your in Advanced or Intermediate, or myself or Becky if your a beginner!!
We also run regular competitions so everyone has a chance to decorate their walls with lovely rosettes! And, new this year there will be prizes for rider of the month in each of our ability groups which will give everyone the opportunity to win lots of horsey goodies!!
Every year we go away on 'Sports Tour' for the last two years this has been to Lloret De Mar in Sunny Spain (or not so sunny as 2007 turned out)!! This is an opportunity for all the sports teams to compete with other Universities in the UK, we don't compete which means we can go soak up the sun, cheer on our other teams and get very drunk and party in the evenings... check out some photos in the tour section!!!! Newquay 'Summer Break' is another tour we go on right at the very end of the year, I went in 2006 and it was fab and some of the other girls went this year...check out their pics in the photo section!! New this year we are thinking of taking a pony trekking weekend in 2008, which we think will be a lot of laughs...tell our Social Sec Dani what u think and we'll start looking for somewhere to go!!!
