Jiu Jitsu is the martial art used by the ancient Samurai to defeat armed and unarmed opponents, using techniques including strikes, throws and joint locks to subdue their attackers.
As well as these self defence techniques, students will learn movement, balance, and how to fall safely, in a safe friendly environment.
MMU Jitsu Club has strong links with the jitsu clubs of the other universities in Manchester and the rest of the North West region, with many joint socials and events organised between them.
Jiu Jitsu is suitable for virtually everyone, turn up to any of our sessions in some loose clothing (tracksuit bottoms and an old t-shirt are ideal) and have a go!
We train Tuesdays & Thursdays 8-10pm @ Sugden Centre, Activity Room 1 (Starting 30th Sept)
We can be found in 'The Pub' on Grosvenor Street after every session.
