Hi & welcome to the
YOGA SOCIETY Web page

Having completed the Introductory YOGA & BREATH, WATER, SOUND Workshops we are now running WEEKLY YOGA SESSIONS in Conference Room 1.  Session details are as follows:-
EVERY WEDNESDAY in THE STUDENTSUNIONBUILDING
CONFERENCE ROOM ONE or THE CONFERENCE SUITE
(depending on room availability).
Room booked from 6pm-SESSION STARTS @ 6.30PM ,
Session length approx 90 mins in total.Cost of session £2

You will be participating in ‘Purna’ Yoga, meaning ‘Complete’ Yoga, which focuses on the use of Yoga Asanas (postures) and allows the mind, body and breath to merge in the present moment.
The session includes some Breathing techniques which help to both energise and ground you and generally ends with some form of guided Meditation to help you de-stress and relax even further.
We suggest that you wear loose, comfortable clothing for the session and, bring a yoga mat (if you have one) or, alternatively a blanket or a towel to sit / stand on.    Beginners are welcome so please feel free to come along.
A donation of £2 is requested per session, and if you haven’t already filled out the blue card, the University make a one off charge of £3.00 for being an MMU Society member, (this covers the use of their facilities etc). All funds go into the MMU pot and will help to fund equipment (mats etc) and any future Yoga Society activities.
The sessions are run in conjunction with volunteers from IAHV (International Association for Human Values) and The Art of Living. For further details about these  Non-Profit, Humanitarian Service Projects please refer to the following websites www.iahv.org or www.artofliving.org
