"In the early 1990s, ‘Global Project’ teams from IVCF/USA made the first contacts with Christian students in Moldova. Ten years later 50 students took part in the first national conference, ‘God wants to work where you are’. Then in 2002 the Moldovan movement was officially registered as the Comunitatea Studentilor Crestini (CSC), the Community of Christian Students.

As the CSC staff team, our role is to encourage students to apply their faith to all aspects of their lives, and to teach and train student leaders, enabling them to pass on the vision to others. We want to be disciples of the Lord Jesus, individually and as a team, and to continue to build the foundations of a strong indigenous student movement.

During the summer, we organise English and Bible’ camps with help from British students and staffworkers. The Bible studies (led by the UK students) have a special impact: the participants are stimulated to share their opinions on Christianity and they are also challenged to respond to the gospel.

This year we began regular city-wide meetings in Chisinau, the capital. Every two months, students bring their non-Christian friends to enjoy games, drama, music and an evangelistic message. We hope that by meeting together regularly, our students will be encouraged and made bolder in sharing their faith."
