Socials
Socials are a chance to get to know the people on the team that little bit better. With games like I have never, you get to know a lot of information about the people you are on the team with. Socials take place every Wednesday hopefully unless otherwise stated by the social secretary who this year are Sam Hunt and Falisha Channer. The venue will be stated to you by Wednesday at the latest, the venue will be at Emberton Northcommon room (just past the swimming pool), socials will start between 7.15 and 7.30 unless other wise stated. If you are going to be late please inform one of the social secretaries other wise you could well be fined! People who live in Crewe do not worry if you don't have a car there is the free intersite bus which will take you to Alsager and then take you back to Crewe after Brandies. So transport is rarely a problem! If it happens to be a problem you will more than likely be able to go to someones house until you can get a taxi or stay with friends. Please do not try to walk to Crewe it is not a good idea trust me lol speaking from experience! I will also try to get taxi numbers on here as soon as possible so there is a way to get home!
A social basicaly is getting drunk playing some drinking games and having a chance to have some real good fun. Don't worry too much about the drinking games it becomes easier once you know what you are playing. All you need to bring to a social is alcohol, usually a minimum of 8 bottles or 6 cans are needed unless you are a light weight like myself. We suggest no wine or it will be a very messy night! you will need £3 to get in to brandies and your student id or you can get someone to sign you in. You are more than welcome to bring guests the more the merrier! The main thing we ask of you is to show the social secretaries a little respect listen to them when they are explaining games to you otherwise it just gets a bit silly and play the games to the best of your ability. The best socials are when you listen to what your told to do otherwise you could end up in some drunken states not mentioning any names of course!
If you are drinking at a social please do not bring bottles of wine but bottles of alcopops etc are fine and cans! If you bring wine god help you!
As well as socials there are some main events which you have to go to! This being because they are great fun and you get to have such a laugh with every one! Things such as mothers and daughters, old boys, valentines ball, leavers ball and of course TOUR! If i was going to recommend one thing to do while you're at uni it's to go on tour! Information on these events will be given to you prior to the event giving you as much time to prepare as possible as you may need costumes or a ball dress.
