Student Officer Blogs

Hey it’s Katie, VP Community:)!  Following a hectic first month in office, I thought I would take a moment to reflect, and inform you of everything I have been doing in the Union so far.

Apart from training and travelling around the UK, I have spent a large part of the last month, bonding with everyone at the union - including Officers and staff - whilst making friends with our neighbouring Unions (who have some really amazing people in office this year!).

The first month for me has really involved a process of adjustment, from my life as a student, to my life as an Officer – (far more early mornings and far less late nights!). But really, being an Officer is a great opportunity because it allows me to spend the next year as an integral part of the student experience and really; being a Community Officer, allows me to focus on things I think truly matter, stretching my role as far as students require.

Hopefully this year I can make some really strong bonds with every section of the membership and hopefully, between me and the other Officers, we can provide something for everyone. Please get involved by adding me on Twitter or by keeping up with my regular blogs. Excited about the future, Katie x
