Winners Awarded at Dazzling Awards Evening

On 11 May 2010, we awarded your winners of the I Love My Lecturer campaign at a dazzling awards evening at the Students' Union.

Over 1,000 of you nominated your favourites across 10 categories including best teacher, best overall course and department, and pest personal tutor.

The stories you gave us about your experiences of great teaching and outstanding staff were a huge part of the awards ceremony, which all shortlisted candidates attended, as well as the Vice Chancellor John Brooks and NUS president-elect Aaron Porter.

Rob Boardman, your Students’ Union President said:

“It was so great to be able to bring everyone together to celebrate so many success stories. The I Love My Lecturer campaign has been the highlight of my time as President and the awards ceremony did not disappoint – a night I and many others will never forget”

Guest of honour Aaron Porter, who is the next President of the National Union of Students, said: “It is so heartening to come to a university where so much good practice is being celebrated, where lives are being transformed by dedicated academics.

“Good teaching can make so much difference to a student’s education and to their future.”
