Coming up:
Wednesday 16th may: meeting at Trof in fallowield
We will be meeting to discuss the shed (whether to keep it, where to put it and its assembly) and the committee for next year.
regular sundays at the alltoment
Someone will probably be at the allotment for a few hours every Sunday, so check our facebook page or your e-mails just to make sure! We will post updates on the allotment sub-website (link at the bottom of this page) and provide an allotment book that will be kept at the site.
Hope to see you there at one point or another! :)
Friday 27 April: promoting the soc at the new b.s.
We will be having a stall to promote our society and the work we do at the new business school. There will be some sort of environmental ceremony, which means that we will be visible to a lot of like-minded people!
in other news:
We might be in an mmu documentary
Rob Croll wants us to be in the film the union/university is/are making :)
We might be in mmu news
We have been contacted by the mmu press department who said they are writing an article about us!
Allotment
We have the allotment!!
JD garden
It finally looks as if the JD garden will become reality!
Bake sale: results
We've raised £55 on the day! It's now been paid into our account.
Possible activity
There is also an idea about pruning etc in Birchfields Park, as they have an area with herbs/fruit bushes which is overgrown. Is there any interest in doing this sometime in the future?
Gardening Soc. library
We have also asked Ben at the union if there would be anywhere we could put a book case for our own, gardening-related mini-library. The bookcase is now in place, so if you have any gardening books you would like to donate to the society, they’re all welcome. :)
Fundraising idea
We might also start a “hire the gardening society” service to raise some money – this will not happen before we have bought the tools however.
