The University Hockey Club is one of the most successful and exciting clubs in the University Athletics Union. We have two men’s teams and two women’s teams competing at a high standard in the BUCS league.
In previous years, the men's and women's teams have achieved great results in the BUCS league, and in the 2004/2005 season we were very successful, with the men’s 1st's winning the league, BUSA Plate Gold and becoming MMU AU Team of the Year. The Ladies 1st team gained promotion in 2005.
The season of 2010-2011 was a success all round. Our Men’s 1s came 3rd in BUCS League 2A, whilst the Men's 2's narrowly missed promotion from BUCS league 5A. Our Women's 1's had a steady season maintaining there place in BUCS 2A, and our women's 2's had a solid season in BUCS 5A, after being promoted in 2009.
The teams train on Mondays, at Belle Vue, which easily has the best hockey pitches in the North West, having hosted the European Championships in 2007. The first 3 sessions wil be split Women 6-8pm, Men's 8-10pm, the first training session is on 26th September 2011.
