MMU Netball

 

 MMU's Athletic Union is one of the best in the country. Each member of the AU brings something different including a generous dose of banter; do you think you can do the same? If the answer is YES then you may be fortunate enough to be part of the best group of students at MMU. Throughout the years we have no doubt known that no other uni's have the same banter as us, including our rivals MMU Cheshire and of course University of Manchester.

MMU Netball Club is no exception to this general rule and we all contribute to make MMU students proud.

Every member of MMU Netball becomes part of the family. We are always looking out for each other and work hard on and off the court to ensure all new comers feel welcome. Previous members of MMU Netball always say that joining the club was the best decision they ever made. All of their fabulous memories will stay with the club, but now it's time to make some new memories and you could be in them.

Manchester Metropolitan University Netball Season is under way! 2011-2012 BUCS league starts on Wednesday 19th October 2011.

You can keep up todate with all the scores and venues, if you are not part of MMU Netball squad although a student at MMU or a member of any other Clubs or Societies then please feel free to come to our matches on a Wednesyday.. We are always in need of supporters so the more the merrier!!

NETBALL INFORMATION FOR PLAYERS

We currently have 5 teams entered into the BUCS league (http://www.bucs.org.uk/homepage.asp)

You should all know by now that training is on a Monday - 6pm to 8pm in the Sugden Sports Centre with a professional Netball coach, Phil Greenough.  

To keep your place on your team we expect you to be committed, passionate and willing. Training sessions on a Monday should not be a chore; those who show commitment will be awarded at the end of the year.

If you are not a netballer, please do not be discouraged. We accept friends, housemates, best friends as social members. Every year a number of the Netball girls bring their friends along to events and matches for support. We take pride in having some of the best social events calendar in the whole of the UK. From fancy dress Netball tournaments, TOUR, the Athletic Union end of year ball, Christmas parties and of course our regular Wednesday nights out. Being a social member is one of the best ways to make friends and if you don't believe us, ask the 50 netball girls who represented us last year, or the 40 girls that went on TOUR to Lloret de Mar in April 2011...
