Welfare

As a result of significant investment in recent years, MMUnion has a leading Advice Centre, which is one of only a handful in the country to receive accreditation by the Community Legal Service. It also offers a comprehensive service locally to our Cheshire students.

The Advice Centre deals with a huge range of student issues covering student housing, academic appeals, debt management and sexual health. The centre fulfils an important role for students at MMU, many of whom come from non-traditional backgrounds.

The welfare and equal opportunities of students is an integral component of MMUnion. Campaigns are run throughout the year to raise awareness of potential problems that can arise. This aims to protect students' wellbeing during their time at university, and to make them aware of the various support structures in place should problems arise.
